The ongoing project throughout the year is the collection and export of medical materials. These materials are desperately needed to create safety for mothers, babies, children in Gambia (and of course also for health workers).

Private individuals, hospitals, companies and pharmacists can bring materials to us. After donation, this material is thoroughly selected for usability and relevance, and then exported by ship. Once we arrive in Gambia, our local Gambiana team will pick this up, possibly with an intermediate stop in our local stockroom. This is then delivered and used in the local health centers.

Material facilities in Gambian health centers are very limited. Health workers at local health centers often have little or no relevant equipment to save lives/help people or to provide safe care. At Gambiana, we believe that safe and optimal care starts with the availability of adequate equipment.
